  • Widow Mine
    • The Drilling Claws upgrade now permanently cloaks Widow Mines when they're burrowed.
    • If Drilling Claws is researched, the Widow Mine will have a visual indicator to show that the unit has the upgrade.
  • Cyclone
    • Now requires a Tech Lab to be built at the Factory.
    • Health decreased from 180 to 120.
    • Movement speed increased from 4.13 to 4.73.
    • Tornado Blaster weapon changed to the Typhoon Missile Pod weapon:
      • Damage changed from 3 (+2 vs Armored) to 18.

  • Medivac
    • High Capacity Fuel Tanks upgrade name changed to Rapid Reignition System.
    • Rapid Reignition System upgrade no longer increases Ignite Afterburners duration from 4.29 seconds to 6.43 seconds. Now, it decreases its cooldown duration from 8.57 seconds to 6.43 seconds. 
    • Medivacs can now heal units Graviton'd by Phoenix.
  • Banshee
    • Hyperflight Rotors upgrade cost decreased from 200/200 to 150/150.
  • Raven
    • Anti-Armor splash damage decreased from 15 to 0.
    • In addition to armor reduction, Anti-Armor Missile will also reduce Protoss shield armor by 3.
  • Battlecruiser
    • Removed random delay between shots.
    • ATA Laser Battery damage decreased from 6 to 5.
    • Can now move while shooting.
    • Yamato Cannon damage decreased from 300 to 240.
  • Engineering Bay
    • Neosteel Frame and Structure Armor upgrades merged. The new upgrade is called Neosteel Armor and will retain the functionality of both upgrades combined. It will cost 150/150 and take 100 seconds to research.
  • Barracks, Factory, Starport - Tech Lab
    • If a player tries to lift a structure when there is an upgrade being researched in an attached Tech Lab, they will not be able to do so and will receive a red text error message.
  • Sensor Tower
    • The structure's pre-placement selection display will now show a range indicator on the mini-map.

ZERG

  • Queen
    • Transfusion no longer restores 125 health instantly. Now, it restores 75 health instantly plus an additional 50 health over the next 7.14 seconds.
  • Creep Tumor, Nydus Worm
    • Time in between creep growth increased from 0.3 to 0.45.
  • Overlord
    • Time between Generate Creep growth periods increased from 0.36 to 0.45.
  • Zergling
    • Unburrow speed decreased from 0.71 to 0.36.
    • Unburrow random delay decreased from 0.36 to 0.08.
  • Roach
    • Tunneling Claws cost decreased from 150/150 to 100/100.
    • Tunneling Claws no longer increases the health regeneration rate of Roaches from 7 HP/second to 14 HP/second.
  • Hydralisk
    • Unburrow speed decreased from 0.71 to 0.36.
    • Unburrow random delay decreased from 0.36 to 0.08.
    • Needle Spines attack speed changed from 0.54 to 0.59.
  • Infestor
    • Unit radius decreased from 0.75 to 0.625.
    • Model scale decreased from 0.85 to 0.75.
    • Burrowed unit radius now matches the new unborrowed unit radius.
    • Infestors can now move through units while burrowed.
    • Fungal Growth no longer allows affected units to Blink, Tactical Jump, or load into transport sand buildings.
    • Infested Terran cast range increased from 7 to 8.
  • Ultralisk
    • New upgrade added: Evolve Anabolic Synthesis
      • Cost: 150 Minerals/150 Gas/42.85 second research time
      • Increases Ultralisk speed when off creep from 4.13 to 4.55.  The Ultralisk on-creep speed will remain the same at 5.36.
      • If Anabolic Synthesis is researched, Ultralisks will have visual indicators to show that they have the upgrade.
  • Nydus Network/Nydus Worm
    • Nydus Network cost decreased from 150/200 to 150/150.
    • Nydus Worm cost decreased from 100/100 to 50/50.
    • Nydus Worm are no longer be invincible when emerging. Now, they have 6 armor while emerging from the ground.
  • Burrow/Unburrow
    • Burrow and Unburrow have been separated into two separate buttons.
    • Burrowed and Unburrowed Zerg unit types will now be on the same tab-select, and both will be selected when double clicking on units.

PROTOSS

  • Nexus
    • Mass Recall renamed to Strategic Recall.
    • Strategic Recall radius decreased from 6.5 to 2.5. 
    • Strategic Recall cooldown decreased from 130 to 85 seconds.
    • Chrono Boost will now display a visual status on boosted structures.
  • Sentry
    • Hallucination energy cost decreased from 100 to 75.
    • Guardian Shield radius increased from 4 to 4.5.
  • High Templar
    • Feedback now deals 0.5 damage per point of energy drained, down from 1 damage per point of energy drained.
  • Dark Templar
    • Shadow Stride research time decreased from 121 to 100 seconds.
    • Shadow Stride cooldown decreased from 21 to 14 seconds.
  • Robotics Bay
    • Cost decreased from 200/200 to 150/150.
  • Colossus
    • Colossus weapons now have turret tracking.
  • Disruptor
    • Purification Nova changed back to pre-4.0 state. Purification Nova deploys a ball of energy that will detonate after 2 seconds, dealing 155 damage and an additional 55 shield damage to all ground units in its radius.
    • Purification Nova no longer detonates on contact with enemy units.
    • Purification Nova now sends a threat signal to the opponent on detonation instead of during the launch phase.
  • Void Ray
    • Prismatic Alignment speed reduction decreased from 40% to 25%.
  • Tempest
    • Cost decreased from 300/200 to 250/175.
    • Supply cost decreased from 6 to 5.
    • HP/Shields decreased from 300/150 to 150/125.
    • Movement speed increased from 2.63 to 3.5.

  • It is now easier to select an SCV that is currently constructing a building using mouse click selection
  • Added a button to the “Language and Region” panel of the Options menu that manually refreshes ping time to all game servers.
    • This function is most useful immediately after a connection change such as a switching to a new ISP or moving your computer to a new location.
    • Although StarCraft II automatically adjusts networks settings to provide the most responsive gameplay, this function will make these adjustments immediately, ensuring the lowest latency available to you.

Editor

  • New sub field added: Parent Behavior Link
    • Located under Unit -> Addon On Units.
    • Applies the specified behavior to its parent unit from the addon unit.
    • Allows control over the parent unit based on the Addon’s state.
  • Added Height Range field to CActorQuad.
    • Allows the quad to change its height based on the position of the player cursor.

Bug Fixes

Co-op

  • Raynor: Fixed an issue that allowed the Hyperion to still attack even when under the effect of the Moment of Silence Mutator.
  • Kerrigan: Fixed a bug a bug that caused the Pneumatized Carapace icon on Overlords and Overseers to appear inactive when it had already been researched.
  • Swann: The Vespene Harvester can no longer be cast on enemy or neutral harvesters.
  • Vorazun: Shadow Fury upgrade icon no longer displays the Protoss Ground Level 3 icon.
  • Karax: Mind controlled Colossi will now properly attack after researching the Fire Beam ability.

Campaign

  • Fixed an issue that allowed players to build units in the second part of ‘Enemy Intelligence.’
  • Tal’darim Probes and Stalkers are now using the correct Tal’darim portraits in Legacy of the Void campaign.
  • Instigators from the mission ‘Purification’ are no longer missing their 2D portrait.

Versus

  • Heart of the Swarm: The Mothership Core model is no longer a placeholder model if the Golden Age Protoss Mothership skin is equipped.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Broodlings with the Simulant skin to produce overly large corpses.
  • Roaches using the Simulant skin now have the Tunneling Claws upgrade indicator on Low settings.

    • Using Medivac Pickup to transport Tychus' heroes affected by the Choker's Tentacle Attack will now remove the stun effect.
    • When attempting to cast Crooked Sam’s Demolition Charge on a unit that already has an active Demolition Charge, the error message “That unit is already affected” will appear instead of the generic “Error” message.
    • The Moebius Restraint Matrix debuff Icon has been corrected.

General

  • Interceptors and Locusts will inherit any attack speed and damage buffs or debuffs that are applied to the units that spawn them.
  • Heroic spawning pods will retain their hotkey assignment throughout a match for Commanders Kerrigan, Zagara, Alarak, and Nova.

Abathur

  • Virulent Nests
    • Now allows Toxic Nests to drop 50% additional Biomass, down from 100%.
    • Now provides Toxic Nests with a 50% chance to respawn when they die in addition to its current functionality.
  • Abathur's Toxic Nest Damage and Respawn Chance Mastery changed to Toxic Nest Damage Mastery.
    • It no longer provides Toxic Nests with a chance to respawn.
    • Now increases damage done by Toxic Nests by 2% per point, up to a maximum of 60%.
  • Symbiote Ability Cooldown Mastery replaced with Symbiote Ability Improvement Mastery.
    • This new Mastery increases the damage dealt and absorbed by Abathur's Symbiote ability by 3.33% per point up to a maximum of 100%.

    • Phase Reactor now cloaks Stalkers for 5 seconds in addition to its current functionality.

  • Oracle
    • The Stealth Drive upgrade now permanently cloaks Oracles in addition to its current functionality.

    • The correct voiceline will now play when attempting to warp in a unit at a location where there is no powerfield.

  • Fixed an issue that caused Thors in High Impact Payload mode to deal one less base damage per upgrade than intended.
  • Vikings that are under the effects of a Raven's Anti-Armor Missile will no longer lose the visual indication if they transform.
  • Vikings that are being unloaded from a Medivac now have the proper drop animation.
  • Increased the size of the of the Engineering Bay, Armory, and Bunker on the mini-map to be more consistent with other 3x3 structures.

  • The War Chest: BlizzCon 2018 has been added in preparation for its global launch on August 9.

  • The In-game music that plays while not in a match will no longer play over campaign cinematics and cutscenes.

Versus

  • Fixed an issue that caused the Mass Recall and Strategic Recall targeting cursor to not match the actual size of the affected area.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Anti-Armor timer to appear on the info panel of friendly units.  
  • 16-Bit – Increased the brightness of certain areas that appeared too dark on Low graphics settings.
  • Fracture LE – Fixed an issue that caused certain doodads to appear as placeholder spheres in the Editor and missing in the game client.

  • The “strong against” and “weak against” section for each unit has been updated in the Help section.

Versus

  • Protoss
    • Observers will now animate slightly when in Surveillance Mode. They will no longer emit sounds while cloaked to enemy players in this mode.
    • The Disruptor Purification Nova art has been modified so that the center core better indicates the collision size of the detonation radius.
    • Adept attacks will now have orange projectiles once Resonating Glaives has been researched.
    • The icon for Resonating Glaives has been updated to match the new spell effect.

Co-op

General

  • Reworked building selection priority of all Co-op commanders to be more consistent.

  • Parts Crates are now considered hostile and units will automatically target them.
  • Parts can now be picked up by air units.

  • The first bonus objective will now spawn at 8 minutes instead of 7 minutes.
  • Hybrid Boss music will now be modified by the Music volume option under sound settings.
  • The area around each Hybrid Stasis Chamber is now buildable.

Abathur

  • Abathur's Ultimate Evolutions now have tooltips that better describe their Symbiotes' abilities.

Fenix

  • Reworked Fenix’s level 10 upgrade, Operational Efficiency, to reduce the mineral costs of all production and tech structures by 50% in addition to its current functionality. This cost reduction applies to Gateways, Cybernetics Cores, Forges, Twilight Councils, Robotics Facilities, Robotics Bays, Stargates, and Fleet Beacons.
  • Legionnaire base damage increased from 12x2 to 16x2. Weapon upgrades now provide +2x2 damage each, up from +1x2.
  • Conservator Protective Field damage reduction increased from 20% to 35%.
  • Radius of Conservator Protective Field in Mobile Mode increased from 5.5 to 7.2. It now matches its radius in Phasing Mode.
  • Combat Sensor Array now increases the Scout’s air attack range by +3, up from +1. Range bonus on the ground remains the same.
  • The Air Weapons upgrade now provides the Scouts’ anti-ground Photon Blaster with +2 (+3 vs. light) damage, up from +1.
  • Carrier Interceptor cost decreased from 15 to 0.
  • Extended Thermal Lance research cost decreased from 150/150 to 100/100.
  • Avenging Protocol now gives a 50% attack speed bonus when a champion is transferred to a new shell, up from 25%.
  • Avenging Protocol now gives a 10% attack speed bonus per supply each time a host shell of their type is destroyed, up from 5%.
  • Avenging Protocol attack speed bonus cap increased from 100% to 200%.
  • Avenging Protocol bonus duration increased from 10 seconds to 20 seconds.
  • Taldarin range increased from 5 to 6.
  • Warbringer range increased from 8 to 9.
  • Kaldalis’ Empowered Blades damage scaling increased from 3 per Legionnaire to 4.5 per Legionnaire. Maximum Empowered Blades damage increased from 29 to 39.
  • Talis’ Debilitation System now allows Talis to hit 8 units with its Ricochet Glaive ability, up from 5.
  • Talis' Psionic Projection ability now summons a Shade that deals 25 (35 vs. light) damage, up from 8 (11 vs. light). 
  • Talis’ Shade now has a unique indicator so that it is more identifiable.
  • Taldarin attack speed increased from 1.80 to 1.45.
  • Taldarin's Barrier damage absorption increased from 100 to 200. 
  • Warbringer Purification Blast damage increased from 200 to 300.
  • Mojo TDW bonus reworked. Instead of increasing stun duration (from 2 to 4), it now decreases the cooldown of Suppression Procedure by 0.75 per Scout, from 10 to a minimum of 5.
  • Mojo now receives bonuses from Combat Sensor Array. His upgraded attack range (6 vs. air, 4 vs. ground) will still remain 1 less than that of upgraded Scouts (7 vs. air, 5 vs. ground).
  • Fenix’s Attack Speed Mastery bonus increased from 1% per point to 2% per point.  Maximum attack speed bonus increased from 30% to 60%.
  • Fenix Suit Offline Energy Regeneration Mastery bonus increased from 0.5% per point to 0.75% per point. Maximum regeneration bonus increased from 15% to 22.5%.
  • Champion A.I. Life and Shields bonus increased from 1% per point to 2% per point. Maximum life and shield bonus increased from 30% to 60%.
  • Extra Starting Supply Mastery bonus increased from 1 supply per point to 2 supply per point. Maximum starting supply increased from 30 to 60.
  • Rally points set to Fenix's suits will now re-rally to a new suit each time one is summoned. This occurs even if an active suit is destroyed in combat and a new suit is summoned later.
  • Fenix's Purifier Conclave now shows the number of units of that type on the field without a mouseover.
  • Fenix's Disruptors now have a max range indicator when selected.

Han & Horner

  • Hellion damage increased from 15 (20 vs. armored) to 15 (30 vs. armored).
  • Hellion weapon upgrade now provides +1 (+3 vs. armored) damage, up from +1 (+2 vs. armored).
  • Hellion Tar Bomb ability now reduces the range of units hit by the Tar Bomb by 3.
  • The Hellion's stronger death chance effect now overrides its normal death chance effect.
  • Hellbat HP increased from 135 to 235.
  • Widow Mines no longer have the “Ignore Placement” flag.
  • Asteria Wraith max attack speed bonus increased from 50% to 100%.
  • The Deimos Viking’s W.I.L.D. Missiles ability now deals 15 (25 vs. armored) damage per missile, up from 10.
  • Deimos Viking’s anti-air damage increased from 15 (21 vs. armored) to 20 (35 vs. armored). Weapon upgrades now provide 2 (4 vs. armored) each, up from 2.
  • Sovereign Battlecruiser ATA Laser (12 damage) and ATS Laser (15 damage) weapon systems removed. These are replaced by an ATX Laser Battery weapon that deals 18 damage with the same cooldown.
  • Sovereign Battlecruiser in ATX Laser Battery mode can now fire while the Battlecruiser is moving.
  • Damage of Sovereign Battlecruiser in Overcharged Reactor mode increased from 100 to 200.
  • Mini Yamato Gun weapon upgrade now provides +20 damage, up from +5.
  • Drone Hanger supply cost decreased from 6 to 3.

  • Stronger Death Chance Mastery bonus increased from 1% per point to 1.5% per point. Max bonuses increased from 30% to 60%.
  • Double Salvage Chance Mastery bonuses increased from 1% per point to 2% per point. Max bonuses increased from 30% to 60%.
  • Horner Unit Life Regeneration Mastery replaced with Strike Fighter Area of Effect Radius Mastery. The Strike Fighter Area of Effect Mastery increases both the radius of the Strike Fighter’s base attack and the radius of its Napalm Payload Effect by 1% per point up to a total of 30%.

Karax

  • Extended Thermal Lance research cost decreased from 150/150 to 100/100.
  • Fire Beam research cost decreased from 200/200 to 150/150.
  • Fire Beam damage over time increased from 100 damage over 5 seconds to 150 damage over 5 seconds.
  • Carrier Interceptor Cost decreased from 15 to 0.
  • Solar Efficiency Level 2 upgrade cost decreased from 300/300 to 250/250.
  • Solar Efficiency Level 3 upgrade cost decreased from 400/400 to 300/300.
  • Advanced Repair Systems upgrade now allows the Reconstruction Beam to target two additional targets, up from one.
  • The Solar Flare upgrade now enables Solar Lance to set fire to the ground in an area that is double the width, from 2 to 4. The Solar Lance's primary weapon width remains the same.
  • Solar Flare duration increased from 10 seconds to 20 seconds.

Dev comment: Previously, there was a flat timer for mission failure that adjusted based on which 'phase' of the map you were on. This clearly communicated that you had to complete the objective quickly to prevent mission failure, but it failed to communicate how much time was actually needed to complete the objective. Gathering a full quota of parts was hard to quantify in terms of time required and there were a number of unexpected mission failures by players who were actually comfortably ahead. 

Now, the initial time you have before mission failure is lower, but every part you gather gives you time added to the clock. This directly links parts gathering to the mission timer, constantly rewarding you for gathering parts quickly and consistently. It should be noted that the actual amount of time you have to complete each objective is unchanged.

Dev Comment: Increased offline energy regeneration allows Fenix to use more of his abilities while keeping his suits-swapping mechanic intact: swapping frequently to be the most effective. We wanted to increase a few stats to hit a few critical break points in basic combat. His basic attacks will now one shot Zerglings and Whirlwind will one shot them with each damage tick (0.5 seconds). Fenix fears no Zerg! These two changes also effectively buff the masteries in the first category.

  • Research Costs
    • 50% reduction to most research costs. Does not affect common shared standard protoss research (Colossus Range, Observer speed, warpgate, etc). 
    • Remove gas cost on Kaldalis AI research. Total is now 100 minerals.

Dev Comment: As mentioned in a previous update, this is a major change to Fenix's economy and ramp up time. It should have a dramatic effect on his ability to ramp up as well as his overall power.

  • Champions
    • Champion AI transfer time reduced from 5 seconds to 1 second when killed.

Dev Comment: Along with some bug fixes in a previous update, this should dramatically improve the responsiveness and effectiveness of champion transfers.

  • Tactical Data Web:
    • Change all bonuses to scale based on supply instead of unit count.
    • All buffs now stack up to 20 supply to reach max power.

Dev Comment: This mechanic as also been buffed. Higher tier units now require less additional shells (ex: 4 Colossi instead of 10) to maximize the bonus effect. 

  • Avenging Protocol
    • The upgrade has been reworked.
    • Champions gains attack and move speed (5% per supply) each time a host shell of their type is destroyed or a 25% speed increase when they transfer into new host shell. Speed increases can stack up to 100% and last for 10 seconds if not refreshed.

Dev Comment: Avenging Protocol now also grants bonuses to the champion when host shells of their type are destroyed. The duration of the bonuses also can be refreshed each time a shell is destroyed. As discussed in a previous post, this is intended to alleviate the pressure to have champions dying first and often to benefit from this upgrade.

  • Masteries
    • New Mastery: Staring Supply: Increases the starting supply by 1 per point.
    • Removed research cost reduction mastery.

Dev Comment: Now that Fenix's unique research upgrade costs have been dramatically reduced, he no longer needs a cost reduction mastery. Instead he gains a subtle but powerful new macro mastery which gives him a big boost in econ ramp up speed.

  • Carrier
    • Interceptors now cost 15 minerals.

Dev Comment: Long ago we defaulted interceptors to autocast for campaign and coop. We were worried that an ability on autocast that spent money would be detrimental and confusing to some players, so we made interceptors free. Multiplayer interceptors have been autocast for a while and it seems to be working out, so we're matching the multiplayer interceptor cost and leaving build interceptors on autocast.

  • Conservator
    • Increase radius of Protective Field By 1.
    • Increase duration of the field to 15 seconds (30 with upgrade).
    • Cooldown reduced to 20 seconds.
    • Phasing Mode
      • Channels a larger protective field centered on itself that lasts indefinitely.
      • Removed the ability to cast the field while in this mode.

Dev Comment: We added a new mechanic to phase mode which channels a field indefinitely. The conservator should be more interesting to use as well as gaining an overall buff in protective field up time.

Dev Comment: These changes now require that IntLoopCurrent, PlayerGroupLoopCurrent, and UnitGroupLoopCurrent be “lexically” rather than “dynamically” scoped within their loops. For example, before, you may have had a trigger that had an outer ForEachInteger, ForEachPlayerInGroup, or ForEachUnitInGroup, and an inner function that would call a trigger that would access IntLoopCurrent, PlayerGroupLoopCurrent, or UnitGroupLoopCurrent. Moving forward, you will need to either make sure to call these triggers consecutively with each other or pass in IntLoopCurrent, PlayerGroupLoopCurrent, or UnitGroupLoopCurrent as a parameter to your trigger that uses the loop iteration.

  • These modifications include a modified code generation upon sc2maps being saved or resaved within the editor.
  • Maps that were made using the older Galaxy system are backwards compatible with the new Galaxy if they aren't resaved, but they won’t have loop optimizations.
