New Hero: Anduin, King of Stormwind

With Shalamayne by his side, Anduin, King of Stormwind, has entered the Nexus to take his place by his warrior father's side. Anduin is a Ranged Healer who comes with an arsenal of abilities aimed at keeping his teammates alive, but also has the potential to unleash the Light's swift justice to enemies on the battlefield.

Trait

  • Leap of Faith (D)
    • Faith instantly pulls an allied Hero to Anduin's location, granting them Unstoppable while they travel
      • Cooldown: 80 seconds

Basic Abilities

  • Flash Heal (Q)
    • Cast for 0.75 seconds to heal an allied Hero for 260.
      • Cost: 30 mana
      • Cooldown: 4 seconds
  • Divine Star (W)
    • Send light that deals 140 damage to enemies and then returns to Anduin, healing allied Heroes for 130 in a wider path. Healing increases by 25% per enemy Hero hit.

  • Chastise (E)
    • Shove a swell of light forward, dealing 145 damage to the first enemy Hero hit and Rooting them for 1.25 seconds

      • Developer Comment: We’re making these changes to the Triglav Protector to shift a little of the vehicles power out of its team fight potential, and into its pushing power (particularly in the early game).  We believe that it has to has some teeth to discourage enemies from committing to a team fight when it pushes, but its capability to nuke someone from almost full health was a little too powerful.  We’ve changed Rocket Fist’s root into a knockback to make landing all its abilities more difficult as well, but still force enemies to disengage when it connects.  We’ve also taken this time to adjust some of the scaling of the Protector, so that it follows a more typical power curve in relation to Heroes, Minions, and Mercenaries.  We’ve removed the Swap Vehicle button as well.  While it was cool, it was a hold out from the previous undesired gameplay of a solo player controlling both seats of a vehicle that we discouraged via the Spell Power buff to both seats being occupied.

General

  • The party size of enemies will no longer be shown during the match loading screen
  • Removed all party-size restrictions during the matchmaking process
Developer Comment: These changes should help address both queue times for certain party sizes while also removing the pre-game bias that forms when facing parties of players that may be larger than your own. In order to ensure fair matches are created, one of the variables used to determine whether a match has an acceptable win probability is the party size. In the event the party sizes across both teams aren’t equal ([5]vs[1-1-1-1-1] for example), other variables will be weighted differently to make sure the match created is balanced. One example of this is that a team of [5] may have a lower MMR vs a team of [1-1-1-1-1] to help balance out the advantage.

Developer Comment: As we promised in the past, we took a look at the overall Mana tension of all the Heroes in the game. We also have some philosophies about Mana that we want to keep going forward. They are:

  1. Mana should be a meaningful part of the game, particularly in the early stages when wave clear is at a higher premium. We believe that as the game progresses, Mana tension should become less important as Heroes gain more base Mana and the game’s focus shifts to team fighting.
  2. Mana tension doesn’t have to be the same for every Hero, but every Hero should feel it to some degree, otherwise it serves no purpose.
  3. We like that some talents heavily mitigate Mana tension.
When we took a look at Mana tension in the game, we saw that, overall, things are in a fairly healthy spot, but could be fine-tuned and improved upon. We like the tension that the heroes who are closer to the middle of the spectrum have, with some examples being Malfurion, Tychus, and E.T.C. Our goal with these changes is to bring the outliers closer to the center. We are open to your feedback going forward if you think that the game needs to be stricter or more lenient in this area, or if you believe there are any outliers that we missed.

Rather than only nerfing the talents that are often picked, we are instead looking to buff up the alternatives in hope that they see more play.

Developer Comment: We promised Tomo00 that we would do this in our last AMA. This is us keeping that promise.

Our reasoning behind this change is that we want to make Tormented Souls more interesting, but due to its ease of use and previous meta-defining power, we are hesitant to give mechanics like more Healing, Armor, or Life Steal that simply add power to the Heroic. Instead, we are giving Malthael the ability to create more options for himself by having more opportunities to move around the battlefield with Wraith Strike.

When this talent also becomes the best Wave Clear option, it encroaches too much on Bird of Prey’s design space, so we’re removing that functionality.

We’re giving him back that power, but introducing it at Level 16, where its primary focus will more often be on improving his team fighting potential.

We’re also buffing Biotic Armor to be a fairly significant Physical Armor buff when Bio-Kill Switch is activated, which should make its moment of power feel much more meaningful.

Developer Comment: We’ve gotten feedback from players that they missed the old Quick Mind talent that existed before Alarak’s rework, as it allowed them to use Telekinesis in more creative ways since they felt more free to cast the ability when it was on a shorter cooldown. We agree, and we're using the Ruthless Momentum talent to allow this to happen. Instead of reducing all of Alarak’s cooldowns, we're instead specializing the talent to greatly reduce the cooldown of Telekinesis. This should allow players who pick this talent to reposition themselves, peel for their allies, or fish for initiations on the enemy more often.

Developer Comment: To promote some build diversity away from Globe of Annihilation, we're moving around some of Azmodan’s Mana costs. We are increasing the Mana cost of Globe of Annihilation, but reducing it from Summon Demon Warrior and All Shall Burn. This should make Azmodan think a little more in the early game about casting optimal Globes to stack properly, while leaving him freer to use his other abilities when necessary. In the later parts of the game, this should also be a buff to other non-Q centric talents like Hell Rift and Sin’s Grasp.

Developer Comment: We’re pretty happy with how Chromie’s rework is playing, though there is a small amount of space to buff her up overall (even with the understanding that her winrate will go up as players get used to her new playstyle). We’re trying to give a small buff to her base kit, while also balancing out a few of the Talent tiers. In particular, we’re changing Blessing of the Bronze to be an activated ability, so that opponents have greater counterplay. Chromie (and the community) saw this one coming, so we were ready to pull the trigger quickly on this change.

  • The cap on maximum negative Armor has been increased from -25 to -75, now that different Armor effects no longer stack.

    Developer Comment: The negative Armor cap was originally instituted as a safety precaution so that stacking long term negative Armor effects wouldn’t lead to degenerate gameplay. We don’t anticipate many effects to go beyond -25, but there are a few cases where this can happen (including the new Unraveling Talent on Chromie and Sgt. Hammer’s Shrapnel Mines).

  • Caldeum Complex

    Welcome to the Caldeum Acropolis, 2103 AD. A city bought and sold a hundred times over, now giant Mega Corporations hold more sway in the ever-shifting politics of the world than governments. Down on the rain slicked streets, humans, mutants, machines and synthetics all struggle to find their place in the light of the neon glow beneath the towering monuments to capitalism lording over them.

    With such oppression, the common people often turn to a life of crime. The leader of one of the largest gangs, the Azure Dragons, goes by the nickname, Chromie. Both a hacker and an anti-corporate street artist, many have said her work has an almost prophetic quality, as if she sees through time itself. The corporate media would have you believe she uses her gang of hackers to illegally ensure her prophecies become true, but lately her work has turned dark, as if she’s seen a cataclysmic force on the horizon…

    Recently, the Dragons have found an ally in the Onyx Turtles. While it’s rare to see the gangs working together, as the noose of systemic oppression has grown tighter, those in the underbelly of the mega-city have had to find new ways to survive. Kharazim and his Turtles are a harder sort of stock than most, with many known gladiators and street fighters serving in the ranks. This new alliance has provided the Azure Dragons a strong defense against threats in the physical world.

    High above, the Jigoku Cybernetics Corporation, a primary manufacturer of mechanical augmentations, has become a target of both groups. In the mean streets, human enhancement has become one of the few options left to move the playing field more into the favor of those willing to bend the law. But their efforts have not gone unnoticed, and any who would dare to impugn the honor of Jigoku find themselves in the sights of the CyberOni, Jigoku’s elite agents: merciless killers at the beck and call of their bureaucratic masters.

Storm League

  • Hero League and Team League have been merged into a single ranked queue: Storm League.
  • Players must have 16 or more Heroes available and account level 50 or above to queue for Storm League.
  • Additional Details
    • Players can choose their preferred roles in the Ranked menu, so other team members can understand their play style.
    • Players can see party members’ win count under their rank badges on the Storm League queue screen.
    • The starting Matchmaking Rating (MMR) in Storm League will be seeded from the player's last known Hero League or Team League MMR (whichever is greater). The resulting value will then be clamped within a certain range to reel-in outliers.
    • Players will be prevented from queuing up in Storm League as a party together if their rank difference is more than 2 leagues apart.
      • There is a tooltip available to indicate this.
      • Exception: For players in a party of 5, any member outside the party’s League spread maximum will not be counted toward matchmaking requirements.
      • Exception: Players who have not yet placed are able to play with anyone.
    • Leaderboards have been updated to reflect Storm League.

Developer Comment: Lúcio’s rework is unlocking some new ways to help your allies and further harass your enemies! His old Trait, Wall Ride, is still completely functional but has been moved to his Mount (Z). The replacement Trait, Push Off, is a new utility Ability that gives Lúcio more mobility with a built-in way to peel enemies for his allies. That is just the beginning, though, as Lúcio has also gained a new Heroic Ability—High Five. This Ability allows him a small bit of burst healing to help compete with Sound Barrier while also granting an on-demand Unstoppable buff to allies that may have bitten off more than they can chew. If you were a big fan of Reverse Amp, no need to worry, it stays on his kit in the form of a talent and has similar functionality! In response to the added power, we are slowing him down a little so he is not quite as frustrating to lock down.

Developer Comment: Our goal with this Chromie update is to create various degrees of success that Chromie can enjoy, so that she doesn’t feel like quite the same all-or-nothing mage that she’s historically been. Traditionally, Chromie has often required a hard counter to keep her in check or completely wrecked an opposing team, creating polarizing experiences. We’re instituting a lot of changes that allow Chromie to get partial success with her Abilities (multiple Sand Blasts baseline, 3 blasts of Dragon’s Breath), while also widening her toolkit (friendly Stasis, Basic Attack damage, PvE damage). While we’re diversifying her kit, we also want to make sure that Chromie feels special, and we think that her Sand Echoes and predictive gameplay with Dragon’s Breath are still unique parts of her that embody the feeling of artillery mage while still having moments of counter play for opponents.

To address this, we are slightly reducing its bonus but allowing it to stack with other Movement Speed bonuses, including Lunara’s trait, which should dramatically increase the total Movement Speed that she gets from this talent.

Developer Comment:We’ve begun to take a look at some of Whitemane’s underlying issues with Mana management, particularly in regards to how her talents interact with her base mechanics. We don’t know how long this will take, and wanted to push out some small buffs to her to help her play and win rate in the meantime. When looking at her kit, we noticed that she had an abnormally high Basic Attack speed, combined with very low damage. We’re reducing her Attack Speed, as she is not the kind of character that can turret on enemy Heroes like Tychus can, and we’re buffing her damage to be much greater so that those attacks more meaningfully interact with Zeal. We’re hoping that these small buffs better reward aggressive Whitemane players with both increased damage and healing output.

To help with this, we’re moving his defensive talent tier from Level 16 to 13 in order to shorten the window of time that the enemy team has to take advantage of this particular weakness.

Now all of his key build-around talents will be at Level 13, which should make his Basic Attack playstyle come online much sooner, and give him more options if he wants to build into Drain Hope, as he can now combine Unyielding Despair with Hardened Bones.

Developer Comment:Since his inception, Rexxar has been one of the highest win-rate heroes in our game, never going below 50% at high levels of play. Despite this, we’ve heard consistent feedback that he doesn’t feel as impactful as players would like. While we love that Rexxar depends heavily on his relationship with Misha to be effective, it also limits what we can do with him to make him feel powerful and fun to play. To help in this regard, we’re moving a lot of his power out of the more automatic things that Misha does (mostly Basic attacking enemies), and into things that Rexxar himself is actively doing, such as using his Basic Attacks and commanding Misha to Stun enemies. Since we’re buffing Misha, Charge so much, we’re nerfing some of its associated talents as they are already highly picked by Rexxar players, and this change would otherwise be a dramatic buff to them.

Developer Comment: For a long time Abathur has had a unique place in Heroes, being a powerful force at high level play while having a relatively low win-rate across the board. These changes are meant to spruce up his talents while streamlining his gameplay and introducing more counter-play to the hero. Carapace, particularly with the Sustained Carapace talent, created some awkward gameplay where it was much more efficient to use Symbiote on cooldown, even when the desire was to stay on one target, due to the cooldown refresh that it gave Carapace. In order to clean this up, Sustained Carapace is baseline and the cooldown of Carapace has been reduced, so Abathur no longer has to continuously remove Carapace to be efficient. In addition, Abathur’s Locusts are now more potent, but they last for a shorter duration, meaning Abathur players will be more rewarded for positioning themselves aggressively and punished when they overextend too much.

Developer Comment: Ana came to the Nexus during the ‘Quest Revolution’ where we were adding them in as many places as we could. Bringing Aim Down Sights into her base Shrike functionality gives us a design solve for the powerful yet flawed Piercing Darts quest. The rest of the talent changes and shuffles were directed at opening up some new builds while keeping all of her current beloved capabilities!

  • Fixed an issue causing Shields applied to non-Heroes to be applies towards Healing Score.

    Developer Comment:Anub’arak’s Beetle Build has been a difficult sell, particularly at level 1, due to the power discrepancy of Resilient Scarabs compared to other talents on the tier. In order to help the build, we’re reducing the opportunity cost of picking its talents by removing Resilient Scarabs and baking its functionality into Legion of Beetles. This should make for a much more attractive talent at level 1 against his other options, and should open up other build paths for players who like to slay their enemies with many tiny little friends. Anub’arak is a bit too strong overall right now, so we’re reducing his damage so that he’s not quite so dominant compared to the other tanks in our game.

We’re beginning to experiment with smoothing this out a but by increasing his sustained survivability and reducing the amount of burst he can tackle while also increasing his damage. While we are still iterating on him, we wanted to get some preliminary changes out sooner rather than hold back until we are finished.

    • Improvements were made to the appearance of Imperius' angelic wings.

    Developer Comment: The resounding feedback on Imperius' wings was discussed amongst the team and we agreed with much of it. In response, we decided to make some changes to the wings for his release - please check them out and let us know what you think!


    New Hero: Imperius (Warrior)

    Leader of the Angiris Council and Aspect of Valor, Imperius has valiantly led the armies of the High Heavens to innumerous victories over the demons of the Burning Hells. While his methods are exact and severe, there is no greater defender of righteousness in the entirety of creation.

    Trait

    • Valorous Brand
      • Each Basic Ability marks enemy Heroes hit for 10 seconds. Basic Attacks consume the target's marks, dealing 30% bonus damage per mark.
    Basic Abilities
    • Celestial Charge (Q)
      • Lunge towards a targeted direction and stab, dealing 35 damage. If an enemy Hero is hit, Channel to Stun for 1 second and deal 70 additional damage when it fully finishes.
    • Solarion’s Flare (W)
      • Release a fiery wave that deals 100 damage. Enemies hit by the center take 50 bonus damage and are Slowed by 40% for 3 seconds.
    • Molten Armor (E)
      • Shroud Imperius in flames for 3 seconds, striking a nearby enemy for 19 damage every 0.25 seconds. Imperius heals for 100% of the damage dealt, with healing doubled versus Heroes.
    Heroic Abilities
    • Angelic Armaments (R)
      • Summon a ring of blazing swords that grants 1000 Shield for 3 seconds.If the Shield lasts the full duration, this ability can be reactivated within 5 seconds to launch 6 swords toward an area, each dealing 140 damage to the first enemy hit.
    • Wrath of the Angiris (R)
      • After 0.75 seconds, charge in the target direction, lifting the first enemy Hero hit into the Heavens. While in the air, Imperius can steer the landing location by moving.After 2 seconds, slam the target into the ground, dealing 375 damage and Stunning them for 1 second.

    Developer Comment: We discovered an issue with Evolve Monstrosity where its damage scaling was incorrect. To fix the bug, we would have massively increased its Basic Attack damage once it was fully stacked, which is already fairly high. Instead, we are taking this opportunity to re-tune the Monstrosity so that it is not quite so powerful once fully stacked, but is stronger right away, which should be an overall buff in most use cases.

While we still like the idea of this talent turning crowd control against Uther into a boon for him, we want to be able to control its frequency so that his output isn’t drastically different when facing off against certain heroes. To compensate for the loss of uptime in these situations, we are giving him a fairly significant Mana return, which should offset the cooldown reduction that he receives on Holy Light when this talent activates.

        Developer Comment: While not a bug, the interaction between Orphea’s Eternal Feast and the Triglav Protector was too strong and could negate an entire objective without any opportunities for counter-play attached to it. This also highlighted an inconsistency with the battleground where a team could spend all their resources winning the objective but find themselves unable to actually use it under certain circumstances so with this change, we’ve addressed both issues.

        Experience Changes

        • Removed all Experience earned from destroying a Fort or Keep
        • Destroying a Fort or Keep will now provide your team with a stacking 20% increase in Passively-earned Experience
          • NOTE: Towers of Doom is exempt from all Experience and Catapult changes.
        • Decreased Experience earned from destroying Towers by 50%
        • Passive Experience gain increased by 15%
        • Increased Experience gained by defeating defending Mercenaries by 100%
          • ​Hanamura Temple and Volsksaya Foundry Item Camps are excluded from this change.
        • Laning Mercenary Experience
          • Defeating Laning Mercenaries will now grant 100% of Defending Mercenaries Experience.

        Developer Comment: Thank you so much for all of the feedback regarding the 2019 Gameplay Updates. While there is still a lot of community speculation about the outcome of these changes, there has been a resounding amount of concern about the loss of Fort and Keep XP. We agree that the complete loss of XP from Forts and Keeps may reduce the incentive to kill them to unhealthy levels, especially at higher levels of play. In response, we have reintroduced XP to the structures in a way that will reward players for taking them early while granting a gradual increase in power instead of large bursts. This should reinforce our goal of making matches closer while also rewarding teams for destroying enemy structures as quick as possible.

        Developer Comment: After listening to feedback, we have decided to pull back the laning Mercenary change outlined in our 2019 gameplay updates in order to give winning teams more opportunities to pull ahead.

        Mercenaries

        • Boss Camps, Sentinel Camps (Hanamura Temple), and Support Camps (Volskaya Foundry) will now be flagged as Elite. 
          • Elite Mercenary Camps are Unstoppable & Unbribable

        Unit Radii

        • The unit radius values for most Heroes has been reduced by 5-15%

        Developer Comment: In an effort to improve visual clarity when many heroes are on-screen, we’ve updated the art for the Hero Ring displayed underneath heroes. To reinforce this effort, we’ve also done a pass on the Unit Radii for all heroes. We understand that these radius adjustments will have a minor but intended impact on landing and dodging abilities, and as a result, felt that the 2019 Gameplay Updates were the best time to make these changes.

            • Players who queue for Quickmatch games using roles that are in short supply will receive 50% bonus experience for being team players. Just look for the “Call of the Nexus” Bonus Experience indicator located above each Hero when viewing the Hero Selection screen.
            • Quick Match will now prioritize creating teams with at least one Warrior, Support, and Ranged Assassin, and will enforce this rule for players queuing as parties of 3 or more as follows:
              • Parties of 3 must have at least one of the required Hero categories selected to queue.

We have taken the bite out of that combo by linking the cooldowns of Chomp and Lurking Terror. We are offsetting this loss of burst by increasing her sustained damage potential and will continue to closely monitor. We realize that the loss of her blow-up potential will make Lurking Terror a much less exciting talent to pick and have future design ideas on how to spruce it up.

                • What was once called a Stimpack is now a Boost, and in addition to buffing your own experience and Gold gains at the end of a match, all players will receive 5% bump in experience for each player in their match who had an active Boost. That mean players can receive up to a 45% XP bonus if all 10 players in game have a Boost active!
                • In addition to stacking Boost XP buffs, you’ll now be able to retroactively Boost your Gold and XP gains at the end of a match by applying a Boost from the Score Screen.

                New Hero: Orphea (Assassin)

                Rejecting the dark power her father had begun to consort with, Orphea tried to run away from the Raven Lord's influence. But after witnessing King's Crest fall to his machinations, she was convinced she needed to stand and fight. She now vows to protect the innocent – as a Hero of the Nexus.

                Trait

                • Overflowing Chaos (Trait)
                  • Hitting an enemy Hero with a Basic Ability grants 1 Chaos. Chaos can stack up to 3 times.
                  • While Orphea has Chaos, her Basic Attacks against Heroes consumes all Chaos, dealing 50% increased damage per stack, and healing for 100% of the damage dealt.

                Basic Abilities

                • Shadow Waltz (Q)
                  • After 0.5 seconds, deal 150 damage to enemies in a line.
                  • Hitting a Hero with Shadow Waltz sets its cooldown to 2 seconds and causes Orphea to dash a short distance upon moving.

                  • After 0.6 seconds, deal 285 damage to nearby enemies in front of Orphea.

                          Cunning and intelligent, Mal'Ganis was chosen to bring Arthas Menthil into the Lich King's service. After manipulating the prince into purging Stratholme of life, he finally fell to Frostmourne as Arthas's first act as the Lich King's champion... yet a demon does not die so easily.

                          • Vampiric Touch
                            • Mal'Ganis heals for 45% of damage dealt to enemy Heroes and 15% of damage dealt to non-Heroes.
                          Basic Abilities
                          • Fel Claws (Q)
                            • Violently slash in the chosen direction, dealing 78 damage to enemies.
                            • Reactivate to slash up to 2 more times. The third slash Stuns enemies for 0.75 seconds.
                          • Necrotic Embrace (W)
                            • Desecrate the air, dealing 119 damage to nearby enemies and gaining 25 Armor for 3 seconds.

                            • After 1 second, disperse into an Invulnerable swarm of bats for 3 seconds, dealing 74 damage per second to enemies.

                            • Channel on an enemy Hero for 0.75 seconds, then swap Health percentages with the target over 3 seconds.

In our current system, competitive solo players do not have many opportunities to find groups of players to play with in a ranked queue. To give these players more options for their competitive experience, we have removed all party size queue restrictions from Team League. Our hope is that this leads to a more robust Team League experience and that solo players find more regular groups to play with.

                              Developer Comment: Kerrigan is receiving an update to increase the tactical depth of using her abilities and increase the impact that her Talents have on her playstyle. We've reduced the range on Ravage but added a second charge so that smart Kerrigan players can use it to maneuver on the battlefield, as well as utilize a lot of her Talents to get the most out of the ability. We've added a secondary explosion to Primal Grasp so that Kerrigan will want to continue to worry about her positioning after her initial engagement occurs, as well as provide the opportunity for new Talent interactions. We've also added a skillshot component to Ultralisk so that the Heroic can feel like it has a big moment when it is first unleashed. Overall, Kerrigan should play mostly the same, but have increased room for mastery and playstyle specific builds.

                              Developer Comment: Late last year we decided that we wanted to add a fun mini-game to Brightwing utilizing her Arcane Flare as the focal point. As it often happens, while making the initial changes we started diving in deeper and deeper. Nearly a year later, we are excited to showcase a fully updated talent tree alongside some fundamental game-play changes to our resident Faerie Dragon. With a baseline AoE cleanse-type effect and added healing potential to her Arcane Flare, Brightwing should bring some new major play-making abilities to her team.

                                      Dul’Mephistos, the Lord of Hatred, is said to the be most cunning among his brethren. Even while imprisoned in a soulstone, his vile influence corrupted the Zakarum and manipulated them into breaking the seal, giving him free reign to reunite the Prime Evils and enslave humanity.

In fact, this addition has brought Lifebinder’s win-rate up to be neck-and-neck and the popular Cleansing Flame Heroic. However, after adding this, we noticed some inconsistencies with how the ability functioned compared to other healing abilities in the game. While we think that ‘setting’ a Hero’s Health to a given percent was cool and unique, at its core it was still using a heal effect that was being uniquely handled to ignore Mortal Strike/Amplification effects. At the end of the day we decided to unify this heal and have the end effect take into account any of these debuffs/buffs.

                                        Developer Comment: While we enjoy the flexibility of Tyrande's kit, she has struggled to find a home in the current meta. As we started looking at broadening our Hero roles, we felt like we had an opportunity to make some simple yet very substantial changes to our Night Elf Priestess. This rework pulls her slightly away from her hybrid status, reducing her damage output potential while introducing a lot more healing potential. While she keeps the vast majority of her older talents, they have been updated and shuffled to better coincide with her changes. We have enjoyed playing her internally and are excited to see what our players can do with her!

                                          Developer Comment: These changes to Kel’thuzad are being made with two goals in mind.  Our first goal, which is in line with many changes we make, is to improve talent diversity.  We’ve moved Glacial Spike into his baseline first quest reward, which should both help his Level 7 talent choices as well as open up new build possibilities with the increased flexibility on that tier.  Second, we want to slightly reduce his variance and increase his reliability.  We’ve moved most of his cooldown reduction reward baseline, and with Glacial Spike being his first quest reward, he can now combo enemy Heroes anywhere in the field, without needing to rely purely on having other enemy Heroes or structures nearby.  In exchange for this, we’ve removed some of his burst damage and the ability to use Chains of Kel’thuzad on structures.  While chaining enemy Heroes to structures made for some cool moments, it could be oppressive to play against, particularly on maps with large pushing objectives like the Punisher on Infernal Shrines.
